9Pic Select Launches Client Proofing for Event Photo Workflows
9Pic Select is our client proofing layer: a way for clients and internal reviewers to choose photos, preserve exact file context, and hand photographers a cleaner edit list.
Launch note: After building upload and delivery foundations, the next repeated request was proofing. Teams did not just need participants to find photos; they needed clients to approve, shortlist, and send exact selects back to the editing desk.
What launched
9Pic Select adds a client proofing workflow inside 9Pic AI. A team can publish a review gallery, collect selected images, and export the decision list for editing or final delivery.
This is a different job from public event discovery. Search helps participants find themselves. Select helps an organizer, brand team, school, corporate client, or wedding client decide which images should move into the next production step.
Why we built it now
As more events started using 9Pic AI for upload and hosted galleries, a second problem appeared. Clients would send screenshots, WhatsApp messages, or informal filename lists when they wanted edits. That created avoidable mistakes.
The most common issue was duplicate filenames. Two cameras can both produce DSC_0001.jpg. Multi-day events can reuse the same file names across folders. Filename-only proofing is fragile once a team grows beyond one camera and one folder.
What changed with 9Pic Select
Client selections
Collect approved images in a structured proofing flow instead of chasing screenshots and chat messages.
CSV export
Export selected filenames into a spreadsheet-friendly format that editors can filter, sort, and process.
Exact file path
Keep the uploaded folder path attached to each selection so duplicate filenames do not point editors to the wrong file.
Where Select fits in the product timeline
9Pic Select is another building block in the platform. Earlier work focused on getting media into the system and making event galleries easier to search. Select adds the internal production loop: after upload and review, which photos actually need editing, retouching, client delivery, or sponsor approval?
This is why Select sits before our Lightroom CSV workflow guide. The guide depends on the structured export that Select now provides.
Example workflows
- Corporate events: marketing teams shortlist stage, sponsor, leadership, and networking photos for campaign use.
- Schools and colleges: coordinators choose images for yearbooks, certificates, social posts, and parent communication.
- Weddings and private events: clients select retouching picks without sending long filename messages.
- Race organizers: teams approve sponsor, finish line, podium, and media photos before public reuse.
What this enables next
Select turns proofing from a support task into a repeatable workflow. Once the selected list is structured, teams can move faster into Lightroom, retouching, downloads, certificates, campaigns, or final delivery packages.
