Bulk Certificate Generator for Events & Races
Upload a results CSV, set up one template, and generate a certificate for every finisher. Pull name, time, and rank from your timing file. Optionally place a participant photo on the certificate, then publish it in the same gallery where runners find their photos.
Certify is on the Pro plan (and Enterprise). After you upgrade, email support if it still shows locked.
Mail merge is rough on race day
Word and Excel choke on large fields. Design apps are fine for one certificate, not thousands of finishers. Your timing export and photo gallery are usually separate tools. Certify generates certificates from the same event setup as your photos.
How bulk certificate generation works
From a timing CSV to certificates on each participant page.
Design your template
Upload your artwork. Map fields for name, BIB, category, finish time, and ranks. For photo certificates, leave a transparent area for the image.
Upload results CSV
Import BIB, name, category, finish time, plus optional splits and rankings. You can also connect a supported timing provider when available.
Generate and publish
Generate for the full field, then publish. Each certificate shows on the participant gallery page, next to photos (and reels if you use Flow).
Two certificate types
Regular certificates
Finish time, category, position, and your event branding. Use this when you want a clean finisher or participation certificate without a photo.
- ✓Name, BIB, category, finish time
- ✓Optional overall, category, and gender ranks
- ✓Optional split times and distances
Photo certificates
Same fields as a regular certificate, plus a participant photo on the design. The template has a transparent area where their event photo sits.
- ✓Photo on your branded artwork
- ✓Works with event photos matched by BIB or face search
- ✓Useful for marathons and large fields
What you can do
Generate from CSV
One results file for the whole field. Required columns: BIB, name, gender, category, and finish time. Add splits and rankings when you want them on the certificate.
Put a photo on the certificate
Photo templates place a participant image in your design. Use BibTrack or FaceFind so photos and certificates line up to the same person.
Timing and rankings
Show official finish time, category, and optional overall, category, or gender rank. Works with common race timing exports and integrated timing partners.
Your brand, your template
Upload organiser or race artwork at the size you need. Reuse templates across events instead of rebuilding mail merge files every weekend.
Deliver in the gallery
Publish so finishers can open their certificate in the same place they find their photos, instead of hunting for a separate file.
Update and regenerate
Fix a field or refresh records, then regenerate and publish again when results change after the first export.
Who uses Certify
For organisers who already deliver event photos and want certificates in the same place.
Race organisers
Marathons, halfs, 10Ks, and multi-distance weekends that need finisher certificates for the full field without building each one by hand.
Race timers and partners
Turn result CSVs and timing exports into branded certificates next to the official photo gallery, not a one-off PDF zip on the side.
Schools and mass events
Participation certificates from a simple participant list when you do not need full race timing. Same bulk process, fewer fields.
Works with the rest of 9Pic
Use with marathon photo delivery, Flow race videos, and photo search so finishers get photos, video, and a certificate together.
Plan notes
Certify is on Pro and Enterprise. See Pricing and the Certify docs for setup and CSV fields. Book a demo if you want a walkthrough.
Frequently asked questions
For race certificates: BIB number, full name, gender, event category, and finish time. Optional: split times, split distances, net time, and overall, category, or gender rank. Keep headers consistent and use HH:MM:SS for times. Full list: Certify event requirements.
Use a photo template with a transparent area for the image. Certify places the participant photo there. If you only need name and time, use a regular template without a photo area.
Mail merge and free makers work fine for small groups. For a large race you need results data, optional photos, timing fields, and delivery next to the photo gallery. That is what Certify is for.
After you generate and publish, certificates appear on the participant gallery page (matched by BIB or name), with the photos they already search for.
Pro and Enterprise. Not on Trial or Pay As You Go. On Pro, email [email protected] if it stays locked after upgrade. Certificate generation uses credits on your plan.
Yes. Update the template or records and publish again. Results often change after the first export.
