More Than a Yes-or-No Check
---------------------------

Inspect the exact alpha composition of logos, cutouts, overlays, and exported design assets.

### Exact Pixel Counts

See transparent (alpha 0), semi-transparent (alpha 1–254), and opaque (alpha 255) pixel totals and percentages.

### Custom Alpha Mask

Choose colors for each opacity class, preserve real translucency when needed, and download the mask as a PNG.

### Private by Design

The browser decodes and scans your PNG locally. No image data is sent to 9Pic AI or any third-party processing service.

How It Works
------------

A direct browser-side alpha scan in three steps.

1

### Choose a PNG

Upload, drag and drop, or paste a PNG from your clipboard.

2

### Scan Alpha Values

The tool reads every pixel's alpha value and classifies its opacity precisely.

3

### Inspect and Export

Review the report, customize the mask, then copy or download the result.

Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------

Common questions about PNG transparency and alpha channels.

How does the checker decide if a pixel is transparent?

It reads the PNG's alpha values after browser decoding. Alpha 0 is fully transparent, alpha 1 through 254 is semi-transparent, and alpha 255 is fully opaque.

Can a PNG have an alpha channel but no visible transparency?

Yes. A PNG can store alpha data while every pixel still has an alpha value of 255. This tool reports the file as fully opaque and separately identifies alpha metadata when available.

Why are edge pixels often semi-transparent?

Anti-aliasing blends object edges into the background using partial alpha. A small number of semi-transparent edge pixels is normal for smooth logos, text, and background-removed subjects.

Is my PNG uploaded anywhere?

No. File validation, PNG decoding, pixel analysis, report generation, and mask export all happen locally in your browser.

Is the PNG transparency checker free?

Yes. It is free to use, requires no account, and does not add watermarks to the downloaded transparency mask.
