Getting Started
---------------

### How do I create my first event?

Creating an event is simple. Log into your 9Pic AI dashboard, click "Create Event", enter your event details, and start uploading photos. You'll receive a unique QR code and gallery link to share with participants.

### Is there a free trial available?

Yes. You can try 9Pic AI with a free trial event. This allows you to upload photos, test [9Pic FaceFind](/products/facefind/), and see how the platform works before committing to a paid plan. [Contact us](/contact/) to get started with your trial.

### What types of events does 9Pic AI support?

9Pic AI works great for marathons and running events, corporate conferences, weddings, concerts, sports events, school functions, and any gathering where photos are taken. Use [9Pic FaceFind](/products/facefind/) for selfie search and [9Pic BibTrack](/products/bibtrack/) for bib or name lookup.

### Do participants need to download an app?

No. Participants open the event gallery link or scan the QR code in their phone browser. [9Pic FaceFind](/products/facefind/) works from the browser, so guests can search with a selfie without installing an app.

Photo Management

### How do I upload photos to an event?

You can upload photos directly through the web dashboard, sync from Google Drive or Dropbox, or use [9Pic Uplink](/products/uplink/) for faster desktop uploads. For large events, we recommend setting up upload access before event day so photographers can send files as coverage comes in.

### Can multiple photographers upload to the same event?

Yes. Multiple photographers can upload to the same event using [9Pic Uplink](/products/uplink/) or approved upload workflows. The organizer can review and manage everything from one event gallery.

### What image formats are supported?

For event uploads, high-resolution JPG or JPEG files are recommended for the best [9Pic FaceFind](/products/facefind/) and [9Pic BibTrack](/products/bibtrack/) results. [9Pic Uplink](/products/uplink/) supports JPG/JPEG images and MP4 video, and photos are optimized for web viewing after upload.

### How long are photos stored?

Photo storage duration depends on your plan. Pay-as-you-go events include 1 year of cloud storage, while Pro and Enterprise setups can include extended storage. You can download event files before the storage period expires.

### Can galleries be password protected?

Yes. Event galleries can use privacy controls such as restricted links and password protection. For sensitive events, you can also use [9Pic BibTrack](/products/bibtrack/) for bib or name lookup without face biometrics. Learn more in our [Privacy Policy](/privacy/).

### Can I download all event photos after the event?

Yes. Organizers can download event photos while the event storage period is active. Download originals and processed galleries before expiry, or renew storage if you need the gallery to remain available longer.

AI Face Search
--------------

### How does selfie search work?

Participants take a selfie through their phone's browser. [9Pic FaceFind](/products/facefind/) creates a facial encoding and matches it against faces detected in the event photos. Search response is under 1 second once the gallery is live.

### How accurate is the face recognition?

[9Pic FaceFind](/products/facefind/) achieves up to 99.7% accuracy in ideal conditions. It is trained to recognize faces across different lighting, angles, and expressions. Results are ranked by confidence score.

### Is my selfie data stored?

Selfie raw images are deleted after matching. Event face embeddings are retained while photos are live on our platform, typically minimum 1 year or longer depending on the plan.

### Can guests search by bib number or name instead of selfie?

Yes. [9Pic BibTrack](/products/bibtrack/) lets participants search by bib number or name, including partial bib matches and fuzzy name search when the organizer uploads a name-to-bib mapping.

### What happens if face search does not find a participant?

Participants can try another selfie with better lighting, search by bib or name if [9Pic BibTrack](/products/bibtrack/) is enabled, browse albums, or contact the organizer for help finding missing photos.

Billing & Sales

### How is pricing calculated?

9Pic AI pricing is based on the number of photos processed, with optional upgrades for professional branding, [9Pic Certify](/products/certify/), and enterprise needs. The per-photo plan includes [9Pic Uplink](/products/uplink/), [9Pic Stamp](/products/stamp/), [9Pic BibTrack](/products/bibtrack/), and [9Pic FaceFind](/products/facefind/). ### Can I use my own event branding or custom domain?

Yes. Pro and Enterprise setups can include your logo, event branding, custom email settings, and a custom domain such as photos.yourevent.com. Review branding options on the [pricing page](/pricing/).

### Can I host photos without selling them?

Yes. You can use 9Pic AI only for photo hosting, upload workflows, search, sharing, and delivery. [9Pic Checkout](/products/checkout/) is an add-on for selling high-resolution downloads, not a requirement for hosting an event gallery.

### Can I sell photos through the gallery?

Yes. [9Pic Checkout](/products/checkout/) lets Enterprise customers sell event photos from the gallery. Buyers can pay online and receive high-resolution, watermark-free downloads immediately after purchase.

### Do you take commission on photo sales?

9Pic AI does not take a platform commission on photo sales. With [9Pic Checkout](/products/checkout/), payments go directly to your connected Stripe account where applicable, subject to payment processor fees.

### Can I get a refund?
