**Server URL**: `https://mcp.9pic.ai/mcp`. You sign in through the 9Pic AI sign-in page with the same account you use for the dashboard. Claude never sees your password, and you can disconnect at any time.

What the 9Pic AI MCP server does
--------------------------------

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard assistants use to call tools in other products. The 9Pic AI server exposes your own account: the organisations you belong to, their events, photo sources, gallery settings, processing and publishing. Claude decides which tool to call from your request and shows you the result in the conversation.

It works on the account you already have. It does not create a new workspace, and it only reaches the organisations and events your dashboard role allows.

Add 9Pic AI to Claude on the web or desktop
-------------------------------------------

Custom connectors are available on every Claude plan. The Free plan allows one custom connector. Connectors you add on the web also appear in the desktop app.

1. In Claude, open **Customize**, then **Connectors**.
2. Click **Add** and choose to add a custom connector.
3. Name it **9Pic AI** and paste `https://mcp.9pic.ai/mcp` as the remote server URL.
4. Under authentication, keep sign-in turned on and leave the OAuth client on Claude's recommended option.
5. Click **Add**, then **Connect**. Sign in with your 9Pic AI dashboard account and approve the access request.
6. In a new chat, open the **+** menu, choose **Connectors** and switch on 9Pic AI for that conversation.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector once under the organisation's connector settings. Each member then clicks **Connect** and signs in with their own 9Pic AI account, so everyone keeps their own permissions.

Add 9Pic AI to Claude Code
--------------------------

Claude Code supports remote MCP servers over HTTP. From your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http 9pic-ai https://mcp.9pic.ai/mcp

Add `--scope user` if you want the server in every project, not only the current folder. Then start Claude Code, run `/mcp`, pick **9pic-ai** and choose to authenticate. Your browser opens the 9Pic AI sign-in page. After you approve, the tools are available in the session.

Claude Code is useful when the photo work sits next to other scripted work: preparing a race day checklist, checking every event in an organisation before a weekend, or reporting gallery engagement after an event.

What you can ask for
--------------------

### Account and plan

See who you are signed in as, your organisations and roles, and the plan, credits and limits that apply before you change anything.

### Events and settings

List, create and rename events, read their status, and update gallery settings such as selfie search and BIB search.

### Photos

Add a shared folder link as a photo source, import photos, process them after a credit preview, and track progress.

### Publishing and analytics

Publish a processed gallery, move it back to draft, and read estimated gallery engagement where your account has access.

Good first prompts:

- “List my 9Pic AI organisations.”
- “Show the events in this organisation and which ones are still in draft.”
- “What is the photo processing status for the city marathon?”
- “Import the photos from the shared folder, then preview processing 500 of them.”

Credits, publishing and other safeguards
----------------------------------------

- **Processing asks first.** Claude requests a preview that shows how many photos will be processed and how many credits that uses. Nothing is spent until you confirm.
- **Publishing is explicit.** Publishing makes a gallery visible to participants. Moving it back to draft stops participant access but keeps photos and settings.
- **No purchases.** The connection never buys credits or changes your plan. Billing stays in the dashboard.
- **Some settings stay in the dashboard.** Watermarks, event location and branding are managed at [admin.9pic.ai](https://admin.9pic.ai).

If you belong to more than one organisation, Claude asks which one to use before it makes a change. It does not guess.

MCP or Agent Skills?
--------------------

They solve different jobs. The MCP server lets Claude *operate* your 9Pic AI account. [9Pic Agent Skills](/blog/9pic-agent-skills/) teach Claude Code how to *write code* against the [9Pic API](/products/api/) when you build your own photo search or gallery. Developers building an integration usually want both.

FAQ
---

### Do I need a paid Claude plan?

No. Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector. Paid plans allow more. Your 9Pic AI plan decides which features and how many credits you can use.

### Can Claude see photos of participants?

No. The tools return event details, photo counts, settings, status, the gallery link and aggregate analytics. They do not return participants' photos or selfie search results.

### What happens when my sign-in expires?

Reconnect 9Pic AI from the connector list in Claude, or run `/mcp` again in Claude Code, and sign in.

### How do I remove access?

Disconnect or remove the connector in Claude, or run `claude mcp remove 9pic-ai` in Claude Code.

What to do next
---------------

1. Add `https://mcp.9pic.ai/mcp` in Claude or Claude Code and sign in.
2. Ask Claude to list your organisations and pick the event you are working on.
3. Try one full cycle on a test event: import, preview processing, confirm, publish.
